XP標準の壁紙として余りにも有名な「草原.bmp」（※上記参照）ですが、実はカリフォルニア州の「ソノマバレー」という場所で撮影された実際の写真らしいですね。

ワタシは先ほど知りました。

マイクロソフトでは撮影者を非公開としてますが、Wikipediaを確認するとチャールズ・オレアというカメラマンの方だそうで、２０００年に上記の写真をマイクロソフトが２億ドルで購入、XPのデフォルト壁紙としてリリースしたとの事。
